In the pursuit of presenting a clean city to tourists, Calcuttawalks.com (a sister concern of V3 Travels and Tours), has unveiled a new campaign ‘Calcutta Clean-Up’ to ensure cleanliness in Kolkata and inspire citizens to do the same. The campaign aims at keeping the city clean and gets underway every Saturday and Sunday from 6am to 9am. Calcuttawalks has got many school children along with ‘Explorers’ as volunteers to make the campaign successful.

Calcuttawalks.com recently added home stays to its service list. Currently, it has ten home stays in total, most of which are heritage buildings. Of the ten, three home stays are under renovation. Elaborating on the need for home stays, Explorer Ifte said, “We wanted to provide tourists the real feel of the city instead of giving the ambience of five-star hotels, AC cars and the usual amenities.” Apart from home stays, Calcuttawalks.com provides other tourism services like city tour guides, river cruising etc.

On the 20th of this month, United States Consulate General in Kolkata will join the ‘Explorers’ in cleaning the city. This information was divulged by Explorer Ifte,Calcuttawalks.com. In the organisation, there is no hierarchy system as each person is called an ‘Explorer’.
